Speaking on a recent installment of FanDuel TV’s “Run it Back,” Shams Charania disclosed that the exceptional guard might be able to make a comeback to the court in a “short while.”

Charania remarked, “Darius Garland had a fractured jaw last month.” He’s beginning to work on the court. The hope among the Cavs, I believe, is that he can return in the coming weeks. Garland must return. He and Donovan Mitchell must be brought in, and they must keep getting them backcourt minutes together. Due to the fact that these two players have yet to play two complete seasons together in the backcourt… It will be crucial to get Garland back in the starting lineup, hopefully in the upcoming weeks.”

Garland has missed 19 games so far this season, and more are anticipated. He is one of Cleveland’s best players when he’s on the court. In addition to averaging 20.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 5.9 assists this season, he is shooting 34.6% from three-point range and 47% from the field.

The Cavaliers are not expected to win a championship this season. They are talented enough to try to advance to the next round, though. The Cavaliers front office will want their young players to get as many postseason opportunities as they can because they have a number of them on the roster. The Cavaliers need both guards to play well together in order to compete in the postseason. This requires familiarity between Garland and Donovan Mitchell.

It takes time to heal from a fractured jaw. It will also be crucial to make sure Garland recovers sufficiently from the injury so that he won’t relapse. But the sooner the Cavs get their best player back on the court, the sooner they can start getting ready for an exciting postseason run.
