Uga X’s illustrious tenure as the university’s mascot commenced on November 21, 2015, and spanned several successful years until his retirement. According to the official release from UGA, Uga X is hailed as “the most decorated of all the Bulldog mascots.” During his mascotship, Georgia football achieved an impressive record of 91 wins and 18 losses, a period that included the clinching of two College Football Playoff national championships. Uga X became synonymous with the team’s success and brought joy to countless fans with his spirited presence at games and events.

The tradition of the Uga line of mascots has deep roots, dating back to 1956 when Frank, known as “Sonny,” and Cecelia Seiler of Savannah first took ownership. Sonny Seiler, a key figure in the establishment and growth of the Uga mascot legacy, sadly passed away in April 2023. Charles Seiler, now at the helm of the family’s ownership of the UGA mascots, reflected on the impact of Uga X’s passing, expressing that the household dynamics would undergo a change.

“Things will be a little different around the house for a while,” remarked Charles Seiler in the UGA release. He went on to share a poignant observation about the morning routine, stating, “Que traditionally starts barking for his breakfast around 5:30 a.m. This morning, Boom waited until 6:00 a.m. to let us know he was ready for his breakfast, so he’ll be a little later each day.”
