Despite an ankle injury scare, Porzingis contributed 19 points and four rebounds to the Celtics’ 143-110 win, marking one of their standout performances this season.

The incident occurred early in the second half when Porzingis landed awkwardly on Bam Adebayo’s foot while contesting a shot near the basket. After briefly leaving the court with the help of the Celtics’ training staff, the seven-foot-three center returned to the bench later in the game, showing good spirits and engaging in playful antics with his teammates during timeouts.

Following the game, Porzingis reassured the media that the injury wasn’t severe, describing it as a rolled ankle sustained in the heat of the moment. Although initially ruled doubtful to return, Porzingis stated that he felt capable of rejoining the game but opted for caution given the circumstances, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing his long-term health.

Despite the encouraging signs, Porzingis acknowledged that a clearer assessment of his condition would come on Friday, particularly after assessing the effects of travel and rest. Expressing optimism, Porzingis indicated his hope for a day-to-day recovery timetable, emphasizing his positive outlook and determination to stay focused on his rehabilitation process.
