Celtic are on the verge of securing a loan deal for Norwich striker Adam Idah, with reports suggesting the 22-year-old Republic of Ireland international will arrive in Glasgow on Wednesday to finalize his move to the Hoops until the end of the season. Idah has netted a total of 17 goals since graduating from the Canaries academy, with seven of them coming in the current season.

The forward, who has earned three senior international caps, is poised to provide additional attacking options for Brendan Rodgers following the recent arrival of German winger Nicolas Kuhn from Rapid Vienna.

Meanwhile, Celtic’s focus also lies on strengthening their left-back position, with Greg Taylor sidelined. Paris St Germain player Layvin Kurzawa, aged 31, is being considered as a potential candidate. However, there’s a possibility that midfielder David Turnbull, whose contract expires at the end of the season, might leave Celtic Park amid interest from Cardiff.

On the other side of Glasgow, Rangers are expected to finalize the signing of Colombian winger Oscar Cortes from Lens on deadline day. The 20-year-old, who made his international debut last year, is set to join Rangers on loan until the end of the season, with an option to buy. Rangers manager Philippe Clement has already bolstered the squad with the loan signings of Ivorian midfielder Mohamed Diomande and Portuguese attacker Fabio Silva from Wolves.

Despite their efforts, Rangers appear to have been unsuccessful in their pursuit of Brazilian left-back Jefte from Fluminense, as the player is currently on loan with APOEL Nicosia, who are keen on retaining him until the end of the campaign.

In other transfer news, Hearts forward Lawrence Shankland remains with the club amid ongoing speculation, while Ross County playmaker Yan Dhanda, who agreed to move to Tynecastle in the summer, is unlikely to join Hearts before the deadline. Motherwell have strengthened their attack with the loan signing of Welsh forward Jack Vale from Blackburn, while St Johnstone are eyeing a move for English non-league striker Adama Sidibeh from Warrington Rylands.

Aberdeen’s deadline-day plans may be affected by the recent sacking of manager Barry Robson, although they could look to add a centre-back following Slobodan Rubezic’s knee injury. Livingston and Hibernian are also in the market for reinforcements, with both clubs targeting a central defender. Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes hinted at the possibility of adding a new player, while St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson expressed satisfaction with his squad and is not expecting much activity on deadline day.
