The Super Eagles of Nigeria are gearing up to take on South Africa’s Bafana Bafana in the semi-final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), set to be held at the Peace Stadium on Wednesday. Soccernet.ng has learned that the Nigerian team is fully prepared for this crucial encounter.

Following their recent 1-0 victory over Angola, secured by Ademola Lookman’s decisive goal, Nigeria has earned their place in the semi-final against South Africa.

Although today’s training session for the Nigerian national team was held privately, there have been no reports of injuries during or after the match against Angola. This means that the Super Eagles are expected to field their key players, including their standout goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali and the in-form Atalanta forward Lookman, who has impressively scored three goals in Nigeria’s last three matches.

Despite concerns about a minor injury, William Troost-Ekong, who mentioned managing a knock before the Angola game, has been able to effectively lead the defense for Nigeria. Similarly, Alhassan Yusuf, who suffered a knock in the opening game against Equatorial Guinea, has fully recovered and gained valuable playing time in the match against Angola.

The upcoming clash between Nigeria and South Africa promises to be an exciting one, with Jose Peseiro’s team eager to give fans another reason to celebrate at the Peace Stadium in Bouake.
