As the NFL gears up for Super Bowl week, attention from 30 other teams, including the Falcons, shifts towards the upcoming 2024 season.

Following the introduction of Raheem Morris as the new head coach, Terry Fontenot and the Falcons’ staff are set to evaluate various aspects, including the team’s roster, impending free agents, potential contract extensions, and the decision regarding Kyle Pitts’ fifth-year option.

Prior to the draft, the Falcons are expected to be active in free agency, targeting both new and familiar faces. Notable potential returnees include Calais Campbell, while Bud Dupree, Scotty Miller, and others are also being considered.

Once internal free agency matters are addressed, the Falcons will turn their attention externally, with several potential targets showcasing their talents in the upcoming Super Bowl.

Mike Edwards could be of interest to the Falcons as a reliable third safety, having contributed 51 tackles, five passes defensed, and an interception for the Chiefs.

Former first-round pick Javon Kinlaw, although not meeting initial expectations, could serve as a valuable addition to complement Grady Jarrett and David Onyemata, having recorded 25 tackles and 3.5 sacks in six starts for the Niners.

Similarly, Chase Young, despite not fully realizing his draft potential, presents an opportunity for the Falcons to bolster their defense with 66 pressures and 7.5 sacks in 16 games between the Commanders and 49ers.

Michael Danna, although lesser-known, has been pivotal to the Chiefs’ defensive success, registering a career-high 41 pressures, 50 tackles, 13 quarterback hits, and 6.5 sacks in a contract year at the age of 26.

L’Jarius Sneed has emerged as one of the top cornerbacks in the league, boasting a 45.2 passer rating when targeted, along with two interceptions and no touchdowns allowed during the regular season.

Chris Jones stands out as a premier free-agent prospect, ranking alongside Aaron Donald as one of the best interior defenders in football. With impressive statistics including 75 pressures and 10.5 sacks in the previous season, Jones could significantly bolster Atlanta’s defensive line alongside Grady Jarrett and David Onyemata.
