On Wednesday, the Alabama Crimson Tide football program marked a relatively quiet yet substantial National Signing Day, securing commitments from three prospects. Under the leadership of new head coach Kalen DeBoer, the Crimson Tide welcomed 5-star wide receiver Ryan Williams, 4-star edge rusher Noah Carter, and 3-star linebacker Quinton “QB” Reese.
Of the trio, Williams stands out as the most notable addition, being ranked as the No. 2 player in Alabama and the No. 4 player nationally in the Class of 2024, even after reclassifying. At 6 feet tall, Williams earned Alabama’s Mr. Football award for the second time and led the Saraland Spartans to the Class 6A state championship game as a junior.
Carter initially committed to Washington but sought a release from his letter of intent following DeBoer’s departure. The 6-foot-3, 218-pound edge rusher is regarded as the second-best player in Arizona and the ninth-best edge prospect in the class.
Reese, a 6-foot, 205-pound linebacker from Ramsay High School in Birmingham, remained committed to the Crimson Tide since September 2023, demonstrating loyalty through the coaching transition. He ranks among the top 50 players in Alabama.
The addition of these three recruits solidifies Alabama’s status as having the second-best recruiting class according to major recruiting services such as On3Sports, 247Sports, and Rivals, with only a slight margin behind the Georgia Bulldogs. Notably, the Crimson Tide’s class boasts exceptional talent on both offense and defense, with a strong presence in the receiving corps, highlighted by Williams, Aeryn Hampton, Amari Jefferson, and Rico Scott, along with tight end Caleb Odom.
Defensively, Alabama secured multiple 5-star prospects in defensive backs Jaylen Mbakwe, Zabien Brown, and Zavier Mincey, in addition to incoming transfers Peyton Woodyard, Red Morgan, and Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. This depth at the defensive back position is further bolstered by the arrival of former 5-star cornerback Domani Jackson from Southern California.
