Receiver Demarcus Robinson has agreed to a one-year contract worth $5 million to continue playing for the Los Angeles Rams, according to a source familiar with the negotiations, as reported by The Associated Press.
Initially brought in last June to provide veteran depth, Robinson saw limited action in the first 11 weeks of the regular season. However, he emerged as a crucial target for quarterback Matthew Stafford during the latter part of the season, contributing significantly as the Rams finished with a 10-7 record and secured a playoff spot.
Despite not recording his first catch until November 5th, Robinson made an impact with 26 receptions for 371 yards and four touchdowns, scoring in four consecutive games in December.
Having spent his first six NFL seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, including winning a Super Bowl ring in 2019, Robinson played for the Baltimore Ravens in 2022, achieving a career-high 48 receptions for 458 yards.
Robinson, who will turn 30 shortly after the upcoming season begins, has a remarkable playoff streak, having never missed the postseason in his eight-year NFL career.
With Robinson’s return, the Rams have secured their top six pass-catchers from last season for the 2024 season, including Super Bowl 56 MVP Cooper Kupp and Pro Bowl rookie Puka Nacua, who set records in his debut season.
