JUST IN: Carlos Alcaraz evaluates his 2024 season on a scale of 10 while describing it as ‘painful’.
Carlos Alcaraz reflected on his 2024 season with a bittersweet assessment, rating it as a “painful” 7 out of 10. The young Spaniard acknowledged that while his year had included some remarkable performances, the emotional and physical toll of the season weighed heavily on him.
“Overall, I would say it has been a 7 out of 10,” Alcaraz began, speaking candidly about his challenges. “It has been a season where I had great moments, but also a lot of pain. The pressure, the expectations, and the physical injuries all contributed to making it difficult.”
The 2024 campaign was marked by both highs and lows. He secured his place as one of the top contenders, capturing key titles and maintaining a strong position in the ATP rankings. However, his path was marred by several setbacks, particularly concerning injuries that forced him to withdraw from tournaments and hampered his consistency.
“I had a few injuries that stopped me from competing at my best. The physical pain was tough, and it affected my mentality too,” Alcaraz admitted. “You always want to be on the court, pushing yourself to the limit, but when your body isn’t cooperating, it becomes frustrating.”
Despite these obstacles, Alcaraz showed resilience, adapting his training and recovery to manage the strain. “The mental side of things was perhaps the hardest,” he continued. “You always want to be at your best, but sometimes life and sport don’t go the way you want.”
Looking ahead, Alcaraz remains optimistic. “I know I am young, and there’s plenty to learn,” he said. “I will keep working hard to avoid these issues next year and build on what I’ve learned in 2024.”
