Mack faced a suspension from coaching duties for the initial six games of the 2021-2022 season due to his failure to adhere to school protocols in the aftermath of Gaudio’s extortion attempt. Subsequently, Louisville terminated Mack’s employment in January following a lackluster start to the team’s season, which saw them achieving a record of 6 wins and 8 losses. Mack’s tenure with the Cardinals spanned four seasons, during which he accumulated a record of 63 victories and 36 defeats.

The Syracuse Orange men’s basketball team is scheduled to face off against the Louisville Cardinals at the JMA Wireless Dome at Syracuse University on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at 7 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcasted on ACC Network and can also be streamed live on fuboTV (with a free trial) and other live TV services.

Syracuse will aim to break a two-game losing streak as they return to their home court. The team suffered a significant setback in their last game against Wake Forest, where they were defeated 99-70, marking one of the most lopsided losses during Coach Adrian Autry’s tenure. Following the defeat, Autry was visibly frustrated, reflecting the team’s disappointment with their recent performance.

The loss against Wake Forest dropped Syracuse’s overall record to 14-8, with a conference record of 5-6 in the ACC. This defeat comes on the heels of another loss against Boston College (80-75), marking the first time this season that Syracuse has experienced back-to-back losses since the Maui Invitational in November, where they were defeated by Tennessee and Gonzaga on consecutive days.

Returning to the JMA Wireless Dome, Syracuse holds a promising 10-1 record on their home court this season. They will be facing a Louisville team that has struggled on the road, with a 1-6 record away from home. Louisville is coming off a 101-92 victory against Florida State, the same team that defeated Syracuse 85-69 in January.
