Florida State’s football roster has seen an interesting addition, as per information from Noles247. Trever Jackson, a four-star quarterback from Orlando (Fla.) Jones in the class of 2024, has enrolled at FSU and is anticipated to join the football team as a walk-on.

Jackson had previously committed to Ole Miss in August, choosing the Rebels over Pittsburgh, Oklahoma, and UCLA. However, he decommitted from Ole Miss in October, leading to a period of quiet in his recruiting journey. Now, Jackson is set to bring his talents to Tallahassee, actively participating in classes at FSU.

Having transferred to Orlando Jones before his senior season, Jackson gained attention as the winner of the ‘Rail Shot Challenge’ at the Elite 11 Finals last summer. Described as a green quarterback prospect with the potential to excel at the Power Five level, Jackson’s journey has been marked by a lack of substantial game reps. Despite being a skilled thrower with the ability to make advanced throws, he faced uncertainty as he switched schools just before his senior season, not securing the clear-cut starting position coming out of camp.

Trever Jackson, 2024 Pro Style Quarterback

Known for his effectiveness in attacking the intermediate parts of the field, Jackson exhibits the capability to deliver tight spirals with precision. His athleticism allows him to extend plays and navigate challenging situations, but there is room for improvement in decision-making and turnover reduction. Despite facing unexpected setbacks, Jackson’s long-term potential makes him a worthwhile investment for a program, as his strengths are notable when he performs well.

It’s likely that Jackson will require ample time before being ready for game action on Saturdays. His development as a quarterback may benefit from early experiences running the scout team in the initial stages of his collegiate career. As Florida State welcomes this promising addition, the coaching staff may play a pivotal role in refining Jackson’s skills and maximizing his potential within the team.
