Ohio State receives numerous offers, one of which is from a highly skilled former Florida State wide receiver commit.

Over the next two cycles, the Buckeyes will be hard at work assessing talent.

Trustees approve contract extension for Coach Ryan Day

As January draws to a close, it has been a notably positive month for Ryan Day’s team, both in terms of recruiting and activity in the transfer portal. The recent highlight for the Buckeyes arrived with the commitment of highly rated in-state offensive lineman Carter Lowe for the 2025 class.

Looking ahead to February, Day and his coaching staff are maintaining their momentum with active recruitment efforts across both the 2025 and 2026 classes. The team has been particularly focused on evaluating talent, evident in the numerous offers extended in recent days. Among these, one notable offer went to Devin Carter, a standout wide receiver from Georgia, who became available after de-committing from Florida State.

Carter, currently ranked as one of the top wide receiver prospects in the 2026 class, has attracted interest from nearly 20 schools following his impressive performances in high school. His family background in football, coupled with his track record of success on the field, makes him a coveted recruit.

In the nearer term, the Buckeyes are actively pursuing talent for the 2025 class. One notable offer was extended to  Campbell, a highly regarded defensive lineman from South Carolina. Despite fierce competition from top programs, Ohio State is making a strong push to secure Campbell’s commitment.

Additionally, the Buckeyes are targeting Darren Ikinnagbon, a standout edge rusher from New Jersey, as part of their defensive line recruitment efforts for the 2025 class.

In other recruiting news, Ohio State is positioned well with linebacker Tarvos Alford for the 2025 class, while also maintaining interest in five-star wide receiver Jaime Ffrench, who recently de-committed from Alabama. Furthermore, the Buckeyes have expanded their offer list by extending an offer to offensive lineman Atamai Matau for the 2025 class.

Overall, Ohio State’s recruiting efforts remain active and strategic, with a focus on securing top talent for future seasons while maintaining a competitive edge in the collegiate football landscape.
